Here’s a quick and easy guide on what’s next for you and your gown:
👗 Sizing & Alterations
Your Gown Size: Refer to your receipt & portal for the size of your gown. Alterations aren’t included, so budget around $600-$800 for basic tweaks like hem & bustle and $500-$1000 for custom changes like handmade sleeves, adding a slit etc.
Fittings: You’ll need 2-4 fittings for alterations. Our seamstress is available by appointment only (Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri; no weekends or Wednesdays), we like to start fittings about 3 months before your wedding with a final fitting a month before the big day to ensure everything fits perfectly!
Booking Fee: There’s a $50 booking fee for alterations, which will go towards your final alteration cost. Please note that if you cancel within 24 hours or miss an appointment, the fee will not be refunded.
👠 Shoes & Measurements
Shoes: Now that you have your gown it’s time to shoe shop! You’ll need to bring a pair (or 2 or 3) to your first fitting!
Measurements: If your gown was ordered with a length measurement you must be flexible with your shoes. You can’t commit to a pair until you’ve tried them on with your gown. Gowns have a length tolerance of up to 1 inch, so if you’re flexible with shoe height, you’ll be all set.
💵 Payment
Deposits: Any remaining balance is due according to the terms of your payment plan or when your gown arrives, whichever comes first. Visit your portal to see the upcoming payments and be ready. Any missed payments will require the balance be paid in full immediately.
📦 Delivery
Arrival Time: Gowns arrive within 4-8 months. Need it sooner? Rush options are available—check your receipt for details.
🎁 Gown Pickup & Storage
Pickup: Book your Order try on & pick up appointment within 14 days of your gown's arrival. After that, there’s a $25 monthly storage fee for safe keeping. Prefer to have it shipped? Just ask for a quote for insured shipping!
Storage Note: Storage fees don’t apply to items in the works with our seamstress.
✨ Steaming
Complimentary Steam: We’ll give your gown a light steam upon arrival. If you'd like it fully steamed or pressed for your wedding day, it’s $100 or more depending on the fabric & train length. Make sure to request this service at least 4 business days in advance.
💔 Cancellations/Postponements
Wedding Changes: If your wedding is canceled or postponed, or if you change your mind, you’re responsible for any remaining balance. Unpaid or uncollected items will become property of J. Andrew’s Bridal. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
🚫 Refunds
Final Sale: All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or transfers of deposits will be given. Just a heads-up—having the gown doesn’t affect this policy.
